Can I cancel any time? ▾

Yes. Open Settings, click “Manage billing,” you're in Stripe's customer portal. Cancel there. Your data remains in your account until you delete it — or you can do both in one go from Settings.

What happens to my data if I cancel? ▾

Your account stays active until the end of your billing period, then moves to the Free tier. Drafts and chat history are retained. If you delete your account, a 7-day grace period applies before everything is permanently removed.

Does the clinician or the service own the notes? ▾

You do, always. We are a processor, not a controller, for patient-related content. Our Data Processing Agreement spells it out.

Is this a medical device? ▾

No. Cogent Clinic is a writing assistant. The clinician is the author of record for every document and holds clinical responsibility. We have no role in diagnosis, treatment recommendation or risk prediction — the system prompts actively refuse those requests.

What counts as a generation? ▾

One completed document draft — a session note, an assessment note, a formulation letter, or a supervision summary. Retries and regenerations each count. Chat messages are counted separately in the chat allowance.

What if I exceed the daily spend cap? ▾

We show a friendly 429 and stop sending requests to the model until midnight UTC. The cap is per-user and resets daily — it exists so a runaway loop can never surprise you with a large bill.
